IT Infrastructure Projects

Over the years, TeraMach has helped numerous clients implement the sophisticated and dependable IT infrastructures that are critical for success in today's 24x7 environment. The following list highlights just a few of these projects.

Backup and Archive, Consolidation	Storage Consolidation Project: Working with a Federal Government department with over 5,000 employees, TeraMach's storage design addressed availability, scalability and performance, taking into account expected I/O loads, virtualization, security and costs. The Result: The TeraMach team created an integrated enterprise storage and backup architecture that will act as a blueprint for the next five years.

Backup and Archive, ECM	Digital Content Management and SAN File System Project: TeraMach assessed the requirement and designed and implemented a Digital Content Management (DCM) core infrastructure, including the creation of a new network segment, an Active Directory implementation, SAN implementation and data migration. The Result: The customer implemented a storage infrastructure that minimized complexity and on-going costs while allowing new projects to be deployed more rapidly.

Consolidation, Virtualization	Server Consolidation Project: TeraMach developed server consolidation and platform standardization strategy, allowing a Federal Government department to strengthen its IT infrastructure and improve organizational readiness. The Result: The TeraMach review has allowed the department to formulate a transition roadmap and implementation initiatives.

Backup and Archive, Disaster Recovery-Business Continuity	Storage Management and Business Continuity Project: TeraMach identified business continuity criteria, documented a consolidated server and storage network architecture and developed comprehensive SAN/NAS requirements documentation. The Result: The report formed the basis of an RFP document for enterprise storage and backup procurement.

Backup and Archive, Consolidation, ECM	Digital Asset Management Project: TeraMach developed the technical specifications and architecture of a storage network to support a digital asset management system. The client was able to use the architecture document to write a comprehensive SAN RFP that addressed its complete requirements. The Result: The customer has implemented a multi-site SAN and backup infrastructure for disaster recovery purposes.

Consolidation, Virtualization	Server Consolidation and Virtualization Project: TeraMach helped a customer with over 4,500 employees to consolidate over 200 Microsoft Windows and UNIX servers using VMware and other server virtualization technologies. The Result: This consolidation project is the first step in establishing an IT shared services infrastructure.

Backup and Archive, Consolidation	Enterprise Storage Assessment Project: For a Federal Government client with over 9,000 employees, TeraMach assessed the storage requirements for the department's headquarters as well as 13 regional data centers across the country. The Result: The project provided a comprehensive enterprise storage plan to store, distribute and protect the corporate data within headquarters and the regions.
