Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity includes well defined plans that coupled with an end-to-end solution, cover business processes, applications and infrastructure. A successful DR-BC strategy must start with a plan to identify key business challenges, requirements and risks, and then call for the solution to protect against loss of operation, data and productivity. This is compared to high availability which prevents single points of failure which is achieved through a variety of techniques including redundant hardware, clustering solutions, load balancing and high availability component virtualization through technologies such as VMware.
TeraMach has developed significant amount of knowledge and expertise to design and deploy DR-BC solutions using best-in-class technologies such as Symantec, EMC, HDS, HP and IBM. With our partners in the business continuity areas, TeraMach helps organizations develop Business Impact Analysis. The results of the analysis will provide customers with comprehensive information on recovery point and time objective for their critical applications.
TeraMachs solutions combine best in class technologies and professional services to help customers develop DR-BCP strategies for both business and infrastructure:
Disaster Recovery Readiness Assessment - The term disaster recovery, a critical part of business continuity, refers to the process of restoring mission-critical systems, applications and data at the time of interruption. Traditional disaster recovery planning based replication and system instant recovery using continuous backup/recovery technologies. TeraMachs Disaster Recovery Readiness Assessment service uses components of the Capability Maturity Model (CMM), and Information Security's Assessment Method (IAM), in developing the methodology to assess the customer IT environment and identify any gaps for developing Disaster Recovery strategy.
Security Assessment - Security Assessment enables customers to quickly identify those systems and applications most at risk and take rapid countermeasures to proactively secure them before costly incidents occur. TeraMachs Security Assessment cost-effectively provides a comprehensive view of security and helps protect critical systems on the network and perimeter as well as systems and network devices that cannot be reached by host agents alone
Business Impact Analysis - Business Impact Analysis (BIA) is essentially a means of systematically assessing the potential impacts resulting from various unavailability of events or incidents. TeraMachs BIA service is intended to help you understand the degree of potential loss (and various other unwanted effects) which could occur. Our consultant will conduct audit on your primary business software, IT infrastructure, requirements and service levels. TeraMach will then perform a brainstorm session with the customer to map out the direct and indirect risks which provide strategic direction for any Disaster Recovery or Business Continuity Planning.
Business Continuity Planning - The purpose of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) is to think through and document in advance exactly what the IT function and their users will do if such a disaster occurs. TeraMach offers the BCP service to help customers build a disaster recovery plan that includes documenting exactly what IT systems are in service; Service Level Agreement (SLA) and operation procedures; and prepare a detailed response plan.
Data Replication - The key success factor for disaster recovery is the capability to meet Recovery Point Objective (RPO) when the primary and secondary sites are hundreds miles apart. TeraMach has tremendous expertise and experience in designing and deploying Data Replication solutions, both synchronous and asynchronous, using industry leading technologies such as HDS TrueCopy, EMC SRDF, IBM PPRC and other host-based replication solutions.
TeraMach was involved in the Business Continuity Project and study for a financial institute which included developing a business case and recommending a technical storage architecture to support disaster recovery and data replication between HQ and the DR site. The infrastructure included synchronized storage controller-based data replication using fibre channel.
TeraMach developed and implemented a disaster recovery infrastructure which included replicating mission critical applications such as Microsoft Dynamics to meet 4-hour Recovery Time Objective and services uptime. This service included the development of the final DR architecture and implementation of the solution based on Symantec BackupExec Continuous Data Protection and VMware for system instant recovery.
