Our Experience

TeraMach helped develop a storage virtualization strategy for a major federal government department with over 7,000 users. This strategy allows the department to establish external storage using a mix of HP EVA, IBM DS and HDS storage and offers tiered storage based on data availability requirements. In addition, this strategy enables the department to implement virtual infrastructure for production, test & development and QA to maximize the utilization of infrastructure with lowest capital cost.

TeraMach was contracted to develop a server consolidation and virtualization strategy. This strategy will allow a major federal government department to consolidate over 200 Microsoft Windows and UNIX servers using VMware and other server virtualization technologies. TeraMach lead a team of consultants to implement a tool to collect server hardware and performance information. Together with the application requirements (such as data availability, level of protection, performance and growth) collected through interviews, TeraMach carried out an analysis that combined all the information to determine the capacity, connectivity, performance/throughput, availability and reliability of the server infrastructure.
